Aksaray University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Public Administration first started to accept students in 2006 with bachelor's degree. The first graduates of the Public Administration Undergraduate Program were awarded in 2010. Since 2014, it has been named as Political Science and Public Administration and it has graduated hundreds of students.

Aksaray University Department of Political Science and Public Administration consists of four main disciplines: Political and Social Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Law Sciences and Urbanization Sciences. In addition to the compulsory courses required by these disciplines, the department also offers courses in economics, business administration and finance.

High school graduates who want to study in Turkish universities are required to get enough points from YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) and AYS (Field Proficiency Exam). Placement is done by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) taking into consideration the preferences of the students. Students who are eligible to enroll in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of Aksaray University are required to provide the documents announced on the university's web site and register between the dates specified. The criteria determined by OSYM and the quota allocated by the university are taken into consideration in the acceptance of students from abroad.

Graduates of the program can apply for master's and doctoral degrees in the field of Public Administration science or in other disciplines accepting students from this field.

In order to complete the program successfully, it is necessary to pass all the courses in the program (equivalent to 240 ECTS), to obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 and to complete the thesis successfully.

In addition to the public sector, the private sector is also active in meeting the need of knowledgeable and expert personnel in administrative and financial matters.

There is one midterm and one final exam in the courses. 40% of midterm exam and 60% of final exam are collected to determine the student's success grade. Students are required to attend classes, practice and exams. The attendance of the students is monitored by the instructor.
